Can You Drive With A P0299 Code Chevy Cruze. My chevy cruze is constantly getting a check engine light for p0299 with the car still driving relatively fine, will go off after about 50 miles ish and will come back on randomly sometime days, weeks, sometimes hours later. The car was stalling, idling at different rpms, and did not acceler.

Need to find $2157.00 for turbo charger,and all the nuts, pipes and seal, gasket and coolent. P0299 and valve cover oil leak. Replaced the valve cover on it about a month ago.

Yes it can do damage to the engine , and the engine mounts, also if you have a manual transmission it cause the clutch to wear out faster. Mine would drop boost to zero and cut the throttle to max 50%. It wouldn't build boost pressure and thus wouldn't get over 2k rpm.

When the engine underboost happens it either the sensor for the boost, or the aircharge tube leaking or out of place and not secured.
